The fuels used in India for most vehicles are petrol, diesel, and CNG (Compressed Natural Gas). All of these are obtained from petroleum found in its raw state as crude oil. Recently on the 76th Indian Independence Day, the Indian-originated automobile company Mahindra announced its upcoming range of electric vehicles. They did the announcement of the cars under the project named Born Electric. Today we will discuss about upcoming Mahindra electric vehicles with their technical configurations. Which Electric Vehicles Will Mahindra Launch?
On 15th August 2022, the 76th Independence Day of India, the Indian Automobile brand Mahindra announced their plans for some upcoming projects. The Mahindra officials announced they will launch five new electric SUVs starting in December 2024. The company plans to invest 1 billion US Dollars in their new venture and raise about 250 million from British International Investment.
Mahindra announced that the first Mahindra e-SUV will be launched in December 2024, starting in the Indian market. We will see new Mahindra electric car in 2024. The first of their five e-SUVs will be the XUV.e8. It will be making its entrance into the market in December 2024. The dimensions will be 4740 x 1900 x 1760 mm.
After that, the next one will be the Mahindra XUV.e9 scheduled for launch in April 2025. Its dimensions will be 4790 x 1905 x 1690 mm with a wheelbase of 2775 mm.
The third one is expected to be launched in October 2026 and is named Mahindra BE.05. Its dimensions will be 4370 x 1900 x 1635 mm with a wheelbase size of 2775 mm. The design of BE.05 will be racing-inspired with a multi-sensory experience.
After that, the fourth Mahindra e-SUV will be BE.07, coming out on the market in October 2026. Its dimensions will be 4565 x 1900 x 1660 mm with a wheelbase of 2775 mm.
The final one is named BE.09. Mahindra did announce its launch time and dimensions, but we expect it to come out in late 2027. The all new SUV from Mahindra which may launch soon in the automobile market and all the e-SUV from Mahindra may become competitor for other electric cars. They said this one will be based on the INGLO platform allowing a first-class experience.
Technical Configurations of the Announced e-SUVs
When we talk about the technical aspect of these Mahindra electric SUVs, they will have lean modules with the usual battery pack design. They will be offered in the range of 60-80 kWh batteries. It will support a super-fast battery charging of 175 kWh that will charge the car 80% in just 30 minutes.
Announced to be coming with an all-in-one compact electric engine that could have both rear-wheel and four-wheel drive modes. It is promised to achieve 100 Kmph from 0 in 5-6 seconds.
All of the e-SUVs will have advanced passenger and driver protection norms that will help reduce injuries in case of an accident. They will be having a structural cage around the passenger cabin designed to reduce the injuries as much as possible.
Dr Anish Shah, the CEO and Managing Director of Mahindra said that they are proud to showcase their born electric range. He also said that the company expects that 25% of the SUVs they sell will be electric by 2027.
Mahindra first entered the electric vehicles industry 12 years ago when they acquired the Reva Electric Car Company. But due to the Indian electric vehicles market being in its early stage, it did not go as they planned it to go. Now with their new “Born Electric” range of electric SUVs, they expect to make their mark in the industry again.

In the coming years, electric vehicles will be growing enormously due to the increasing amount of fuel. As proposed, all automobile brands are slowly entering the race to dominate the electric vehicles industry. With the same, Mahindra announced their “Born Electric” range. There is no doubt that upcoming Mahindra electric car will be successful in the Indian market.
